Leslie Stoval a well-known radio/streaming personality in the San Francisco Bay Area has died. Celebrated for her engaging, vibrant and smooth presence on the air, making her a beloved figure among listeners in the Bay Area.
Leslie has been part of several notable radio stations, beginning with her alma mater Stanford University’s KZSU, KMEL during its national prominence run as “The People’s Station”, and KBLX; leading the format adoption of the “Quiet Storm” programming.
Leslie through the years offered her unique style and passion for music to a wide audience and has recently been noted for her work in promoting and celebrating jazz music. She had been the on-air host & producer of four weekly shows – The Jazz Oasis (weekly Tuesday 6p-9p), The Sweet Spot (weekly Tuesday 9p-10p), Jazz In the Afternoon (weekly Thursday 2p-6p), and Places and Spaces: Community Talk (weekly Sunday 8a-9a)- an NPR associated public affairs program. And The Jazz Oasis/Sweet Spot airing every Wed., Thurs., and Friday 6p-10p on KCSM FM’s secondary channel at 91.1-2 HD2. All her shows were live and simulcast on KCSM 91.1FM/90.7FM HD1 and on KCSM.org.
Leslie’s dedicated involvement in the community and her ability to connect with listeners made her a respected and influential figure in the world of radio and she will be missed by many.
