Ashley Brown’s Non-Compete Story

Over the years, media non-compete clauses have kept high profile Indy radio people off-air, waiting out clauses. Now as former WHHH/WTLC air personality and more recently WISH-tv meteorologist Ashley Brown’s lawsuit against WISH-tv over a non-compete is underway, IndyStar reports that last week (9-3-25) at least 11 (now reported as 21) WISH-TV staffers quit or were fired over a new and even more restrictive non-compete agreement. The new agreement would keep them off not only Indy radio and tv, but also social media and podcasts for a year after leaving WISH. Two anchors, three reporters, three producers, and three videographers have reportedly been fired or have quit over the issue, including their VP of news.
