Longtime Tallahassee radio personality Joe Bullard has unexpectedly parted ways with WHBX-FM (96.1 Jamz), reports WCTV-TV, ending a remarkable run that spanned nearly 30 years on the Cumulus Urban AC outlet. Bullard’s final day on the air was June 17, according to a statement from his family. The Fourth of July commemorates the passage of the Declaration of Independence by Congress in 1776. This officially declared that the 13 established colonies were now legally separate from Great Britain, one of the motivating factors of the first Pilgrims who first arrived in 1620 to pursue religious freedom.

Congratulations to Andrea (Geiger) Kahrer, who has been promoted to vice president/general manager at Radio One Indiana, overseeing multiple stations, including WIBC, WYXB, WTLC, WLHK, WHHH, and The Fan. Andrea had most recently served for 10 years as general sales manager, with previous positions as a Radio One and Emmis AE and earlier as a member of the Emmis promotions department.
