The Fourth of July commemorates the passage of the Declaration of Independence by Congress in 1776. This officially declared that the 13 established colonies were now legally separate from Great Britain, one of the motivating factors of the first Pilgrims who first arrived in 1620 to pursue religious freedom.

The AJC Peachtree Road Race in 2025 will be held July 4th as part of the traditional Independence Day celebration in Atlanta. The race will begin near Lenox Square Mall and finish in Piedmont Park. It’s known as the world’s largest 10K race, with over 50,000 participants expected.  Join our list of winners making money. | Email us or call: (404)403.0091 | We’d love to hear from you.  

Congratulations to Andrea (Geiger) Kahrer, who has been promoted to vice president/general manager at Radio One Indiana, overseeing multiple stations, including WIBC, WYXB, WTLC, WLHK, WHHH, and The Fan. Andrea had most recently served for 10 years as general sales manager, with previous positions as a Radio One and Emmis AE and earlier as a member of the Emmis promotions department.
