Sidney Miller was responsible for promoting and elevating so many of our world renown Black Music Artists and Executives. I met Sidney in as a kid in 1978 working for Dick Griffey at Solar Records in the early BRE (Black Radio Exclusive) days.
Sidney was always spotlighting our talent, our fearless leader, and the folks behind the scenes in Black Music. To me, Sidney was not a respecter of persons outside of us being Black trying to make it in Hollywood! Unlike many others, he did not diminish our professional relationship when I left Solar to manage Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
He stayed with me and kept pushing me for 3 decades, and even gave me the cover and two or three page story of BRE for a Christian Record Company I launched on behalf of a mega church in Boston. Sidney’s legacy will live on forever, and I will be forever grateful for the help and recognition he gave me as a young black woman in Hollywood trying to make it in a man’s world. #InPeaceSidneyMiller
