Urban radio can get involved and spread the work for Black Voters Matter.

Sixty-one years ago, Black Americans marched across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, risking everything for the right to vote. Bloody Sunday isn’t just history; it’s a blueprint for courage and change.

Today, the fight continues, and the next generation of leaders must see it for themselves. Studies show students who are civically engaged perform better academically, are more likely to graduate, and develop stronger leadership skills. Civic education isn’t just knowledge, it’s empowerment.

Through our Take the Field program, Black Voters Matter supports college students across the country, equipping them with the tools, mentorship, and experiences to become tomorrow’s change-makers. This March, students will:

  • Visit key Civil Rights landmarks in Selma
  • Participate in leadership and empowerment sessions grounded in resistance, resilience, and community rebuilding.
  • Join the march to Restore Voting Rights and engage directly with historyWe need your help in raising 15K to send 45 students to this historic commemorative event. Every donation sends a student to this once-in-a-lifetime experience an investment in their education, leadership, and our shared future.

Donate now and help shape the next generation of civic leaders.

With Gratitude, Black Voters Matter
