How The Texas Gerrymandering Battle Could Impact The Midterms

60 years after the Voting Rights Act became law, Texas lawmakers are trying to rewrite the rules to silence minorities.

Right now in Texas, the Texas GOP is pushing through a mid-cycle redistricting plan designed to strip power from Black and Brown communities. These new maps are unconstitutional and racist—plain and simple. They’re trying to cheat their way to more control by redrawing district lines in the middle of the game.

But this isn’t just a Texas issue. When one state gets away with suppressing voters of color, it opens the door for others to do the same. That’s why we’re asking you to call your representative today and demand they take a stand—because if Texas is going to cheat, your state better be ready to fight back. Your state could be next.

This isn’t about Democrats vs. Republicans. It’s about protecting our rights, our representation, and the future of democracy in this country.
