The Bill Gay Show Atlanta Classic Hits & Talk Radio
The Library of American Broadcasting Foundation (LABF) has introduced Past Forward, a new quarterly newsletter designed to celebrate and share the rich legacy of broadcasting in America. Past Forward is offered free to readers and aims to deliver compelling stories from the LABF archives, updates on Foundation initiatives, and industry insights.
The inaugural issue includes an exclusive look at the Parks Johnson Collection, which chronicles the history of Vox Pop — a pioneering network radio program that documented American life during the Great Depression, World War II, and beyond through live audience participation.
“The LAB archives are a national treasure, and this new platform brings them to life in a way that is both accessible and engaging,” said LABF Co-Chairs Heidi Raphael, Chief Communications Officer at Beasley Media Group, and Jack Goodman, a veteran communications attorney based in Washington, D.C.
The LABF credited Board Member Harry Jessell and Web Designer Kerry Thompson for their contributions, as well as the Mass Media & Culture, Special Collections & University Archives team at the University of Maryland for their role in developing the project. To subscribe to Past Forward, visit here.
