Thanks, Crystal James Goodwin for posting and sharing on Facebook the sad news about her mother Maye James Holler  | I am extremely heartbroken to share the news that my beautiful, beloved and incredible mother, Maye James-Holler peacefully transitioned from this life today, December 8, 2025 at 12pm after a relatively brief battle with illness

If you know me, you know my mom. She is the light that fuels my life like no other and I am standing simultaneously in disbelief and extreme gratitude for being the daughter of this beautiful soul.

Please give me a minute to collect my thoughts…I am processing the reality of my life which is now forever changed. I understand that God’s ways are not our ways and that my Mommy now lives with the Lord, her mom and dad and differently than before, but also that she lives in me…and that I stand on God’s word, as she taught me to do.  “Remember Crissy, Trust in the Lord, with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all thy ways, acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path”, Proverbs 3:5.   Amen and Thank you Mommy and thank you God for choosing her to be my Mom. Many thoughs and prayers for Maye James-Holler, a friend to so many.

Remembering Maye James- Holler

Skip Dillard VP Brand Manger Audacy, New York | What a Monday. We lost TWO music industry greats I was Blessed to know. Prayers out to #CrystalJamesGoodwin and her family as we mourn the loss of her mother #MayeJames And, we remember Hip-Hop innovator and founder of Cold Chillin’ Records Tyrone “Fly Ty” Williams Prayers out to my colleague #BrittanyWilliams and her family. I’ll post bios on both of them soon.

Daisy Davis in her own words, Maye James-Holler | My dear friend Maye James made her transition today. She wasn’t only my friend; she was the big sister I never had and didn’t know I needed. She was my confidant, my biggest supporter, a huge motivator and always gave me incredible nutritional information. I really have tried to do most of it. I will do better. She loved learning and was always reading and researching everything. I remember when I first met Maye many years ago when she was the Music Director at WBLS in New York. She was so gracious and kind to me. I was the programming assistant in Chicago at WBMX and she took the time out of her day to allow me to come by the station. She gave me a tour and answered all of my questions; no matter how trivial they were. That was big for me because another station didn’t let me come by and I never forgot her for that. She was so accommodating.
