Lizzo shares nudes to encourage self-love

The singer took to Instagram to share a message of unconditional love with her millions of followers

Lizzo is “freeing herself in love.” The singer shared nude posts on her Instagram over the weekend, with a message of loving yourself, personal freedom and unconditional love.

In the video post that now has over two million views, the “Rumors” singer posed nude over an audio of her singing, “If you love me you love all of me, or none of me at all.”

She continued her sentiment in the caption of her post, writing to her 11.9 million followers, “If you love me… you love all of me. You don’t get to pick and choose. We should be unconditionally loving of one another, starting with being unconditionally loving to ourselves.”

She continued to give her followers some free advice on how to put themselves first. “Take a moment today and think about the conditions we hold so tightly to that keep us from the freedom of true love. Do you really wanna be so tightly wound? Free yourself in love. You deserve it.”

She shared a picture from the same shoot in another post, simply writing ‘Art.’ as the caption. This, of course, is not the first time the three-time Grammy Award-winner has been very open about self-love and her body. In August of 2021, as theGrio previously reported, she opened up to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe about the lack of body acceptance throughout the entertainment industry.

Speaking to her lyrics, “I’m in love with myself,” she explained, “I was like, you know what? I’ve never heard anyone say that in a song so I’m going to say it. And I did it just kind of off the cuff, silly, funny, but I didn’t realize it would start this whole thing.”

She continued, “Music can influence the culture and the way things look; commercials, billboards; but that changes so much. The infrastructure has not changed as much. There’s still so many people who suffer from being marginalized systemically,” she continued.

“Meanwhile, there’s a plus-sized Black girl at the Grammy’s. But plus-size Black women are still not getting the treatment they deserve in hospitals and from doctors and at work, you know what I mean? We got a long way to go.”
