RM Promotes Four People Of Color

Radio Milwaukee, an entity in the broadcast and streaming landscape for arts and culture, has announced the promotion of four staff members, all of whom are people of color, to leadership roles. This move marks a significant step in the media outlet’s commitment to diversity and representation within the industry.

Jordan Lee, a longstanding member of the Radio Milwaukee team with 15 years of service, has been officially named the Executive Director after filling the role on an interim basis since January. Lee, known for his instrumental role in launching the multimedia platform HYFIN, will join co-host Dori Zori on-air to discuss the new leadership dynamics and the outlet’s continued dedication to serving Milwaukee’s Black and Brown communities.

Tarik Moody, another veteran at the station, has been elevated to Director of Strategy and Innovation. With an 18-year tenure at Radio Milwaukee, Moody has been a key figure in the development and success of HYFIN, crafting digital content and programs that resonate with the community.

In addition to Lee and Moody, Element Everest-Blanks has been appointed as the Program Director of HYFIN, which prides itself as a Black-led, digital-first media platform. Everest-Blanks, who will maintain her role as an on-air host, is set to expand her influence through strategic programming decisions aimed at enriching listener experience.

Completing the quartet of promotions is Kenny Perez, who takes over as Program Director of 88Nine. Perez, who will also continue his on-air presence, is set to oversee programming that aligns with the station’s mission of community engagement and diverse representation.

These leadership changes will be formally announced during the station’s Spring Membership Drive, broadcast live on Tuesday at 9am on 88Nine.
