The Bill Gay Show Atlanta Classic Hits & Talk Radio

Bridge Ratings, Dave Van Dyke
In today’s media landscape, traditional radio can no longer afford to ignore video—and YouTube is the logical place to start. With over 2 billion logged-in users each month and massive reach across all age groups, YouTube isn’t just a video platform—it’s the second-largest search engine and a go-to destination for music, news, and entertainment.
For radio, a presence on YouTube extends brand visibility beyond the dial. Video clips of in-studio interviews, behind-the-scenes moments, and curated content like artist spotlights or topical commentary offer fans a deeper, more personal connection. Younger audiences, in particular, expect to “see” the voices they hear, and YouTube allows stations to meet them where they are.
Importantly, a video strategy can also create new revenue streams through sponsorships, pre-roll ads, and branded content—something traditional radio needs as ad dollars shift toward digital. While not every radio moment needs to be filmed, select, well-produced video content can dramatically boost engagement and discoverability.
Ignoring YouTube risks leaving audience growth—and cultural relevance—on the table. The future of radio isn’t just heard. It’s also seen.
